Officials at Chadron State College in Nebraska are pleased with the increasing popularity of their online masters degree programs. The higher enrollment has been welcomed, and every online graduate student who completes 36 credit hours generates $8500 in revenue for the institution.

Expanding the college's typical service region online is especially helpful for school like Chadron which are located in sparsely populated service regions. When online education first came on the scene, a lot of traditional institutions dismissed the notion, but Chadron was an early adopter in the late 1990s. That means the college has years of experience in delivering online courses and degree programs, with courses that feature a mix of online and face-to-face instruction. The number of older students enrolling in the online masters degree programs is soaring, as these are mainly adult learners who are looking to career development.

Career advice service has been made redundant as local authorities in UK, drastically reduce funding and replace it with, online career advice. The survey was made by the Institute of Career Guidance, from data collected from 340 Connexion staff, providing career advice.

In Norfolk, face to face career advice service has been cut drastically, and in Leeds, the service providers are working only part time.
