Career Advice Service Under Threat In UK

Career advice service has been made redundant as local authorities in UK, drastically reduce funding and replace it with, online career advice. The survey was made by the Institute of Career Guidance, from data collected from 340 Connexion staff, providing career advice.
Almost 17 % of them said that the entire career advice service, in their area had shut down or was due to close.
According to the institute president, Steve Higginbotham, it can be concluded from the findings of the survey, that the career advice service has been hard hit, by the cuts.
According to Unison, the public sector trade union, jobs of 8000 staff have been cut and more cuts were in the offing. Such cuts to career advice service were more severe, in the public sector.
In Norfolk, face to face career advice service has been cut drastically, and in Leeds, the service providers are working only part time.
Further, entitlement funding, of career advice service of schools and colleges, have also been reduced drastically.
