Career Advice and Interview Tips

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock hosted a Career Connections Day where experts were on hand to offer career advice and counseling to students, and employers from local businesses were also in attendance to conduct on site interviews and offer advice. In terms of interviews, there are several key do's and don'ts to keep in mind.

It is very important to dress professionally, as your image is the first thing you will be judged on by potential employers. During the interview, avoid talking about controversial issues and offering personal information. Also, know what you want to do. Employers want to see that you know what you can offer and what you are looking for in a career. You should always arrive on time, and also follow-up on the interview with a thank you note.
